Save the file as a plain text file and then send it (attach to the e-mail).  The plain text is compatible with any Word Processor.   You will lose any formatting with plain text but it will be useable by anyone.  The Works WordProcessor is not very compatible.  MS Word will import some versions of the Works WordProcessor but that's all.  Corel's WordPerfect will not import Works files.
