TM,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
1.Use the Factory Reset setting to restore the projector defaults.
Using Your Projector: Dell™ 2200MP Projector.
2.If that does not work, then use the Lamp Reset features for the lamp.
Using Your Projector: Dell™ 2200MP Projector.
3.If that does not fix the problem, then YES you should replace the lamp.
4.If after doing all this you still have the problem, you should contact support
for a possible projector replacement.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
If the Lamp light is constantly on, the lamp module is due for replacement.
When the lamp reaches its end of life, it will burn out and may make a loud popping sound. If this occurs, the projector will not turn back on until the lamp is replaced.
If the projector displays the Lamp may fail soon! Replacement suggested! message, lamp replacement may be necessary. If the lamp was recently replaced and the message still appears, enter the OSD menu to reset the lamp.

Warranty:
The lamp is covered by Dell for the first 90 days from the invoice date.
Any lamp replaced within warranty will be considered a refurbished bulb, and will carry a limited 30 day warranty,
or the remainder of the 90-day warranty, whichever is greater.

I had a similar problem with my 2100MP Projector.  Now, it no longer will fire up the bulb at all!  It only has about 5 hours of use on the bulb.  When you turn on the projector, it will click for a bit, stop, and then click for a bit again.  This happens 5 times before the lamp light comes on.  I would suggest you have the lamp looked at ASAP if it is under warranty still.  Mine is past the lamp warranty date, so I can no longer even use the projector until I spend $380.00 on a new lamp.

I just have the same problem with my 2200MP.  This morning I was trying to turn on the projector and it started to turn on the lamp light after several restarts.  After 2 hours I tried again and its working perfect again.  The problem it-s that if that this happenes just before a presentation and I had to rent another device.

Should I send my projector to have a replacement?

I would, mine died shortly after this started happening!  At least let them look it over and verify that it is ok.  But, that is just my suggestion.

Thanks for your advise Mr. First Solar,

Just one question, after you replace your lamp you started working fine again or you had to replace the whole unit.
