Download an evaluation ISO of Windows Server and reinstall from the beginning.

Hi, @ TheSoloman

thanks for choosing Dell, what password are we talking here? OS password? Idrac password? Server products don’t come with a recovery CD unlike desktops and laptops.

Please see the article here.

Hello,

The only resolution we can recommend to an OS password loss would be to reinstall, unfortunately. The iDRAC password would not be a password that gets you into the server, just the iDRAC.

Thank you for your prompt response, well I can't login to the server, I forgot the admin password and I need a way to either recover, reset it or a way to get to the server to set it up. so I don't know whether it is the OS or the Idrac pw.

I appreciate your assistance.

You need to set it up ... meaning it is not set up and not currently in use, SO you have nothing to lose by blowing it away and installing the OS from scratch. You don't need to get into an OS that was never set up to use the server. Reinstall Windows to set it up.

Thank you for your help, for some reason it won't let me download, I have completed the registration form and says "your download started" but it is not,

Hi, can you show us where you are stuck? Is there a broken link/screen captured image you can share?

I would check your network / firewall / antivirus or even your browser.

Is it a bios boot password or a login password for your os?
