PowerEdge R940 firmware update
Hello, I am new to R940. We are installing OLE 6.9 on R940 and we want to update the drivers and firmwares of R940.
I found 2 SUU with below details.
1- DELL EMC Driver Pack For Linux OS, v.21.04.00
2- DELL EMC Server Update Utility, Linux 64 bit Format, v.21.04.00
Please advise if I have to install both SUUs or the last one is enough ?
Thank you

About the FW....
which contains a bootable linux and will update all FW in your host
If you have more than one Dell Server around consider to use use Dell OpenManage Enterprise (OME) which is a linux based Appliance for XEN, Hyper-V, vSphere which can update all Hosts from a central point by a couple of clicks.

Driver pack is a package which carry all supported operating system drivers for the platform. Installing driver pack will not install drivers on the server. It can be used while OS deployment or you need to manually install the drivers using driver pack.
As you have OLE 6.9 operating system which is not a supported operating system for R940, Server Update Utility or driver pack might not work.
You can refer below link on various other methods to update firmware on PowerEdge server

OLE 6.10 is supported by R940 ?
you mean driver pack must be installed in OS deployment of LCC after OS installation?

Hello, you can look at the supported operating systems here. OLE 6.10 is not officially supported. https://dell.to/3nzDbn4
You can update the firmware with the Bootable ISO.
The article here is also explained in detail. https://dell.to/3u6zisz
