Problem after replacing system board
Hello
I just replaced the system board on R320, but I am having trouble running the OS or entering the BIOS
When I tried to F2 to the BIOS system is seating on "Preparing to enter System Bios" or if I try to enter to LC the same "Initialization Complete" and that's it just seating there.
I clear NVRAM and no changes
Any Advice
Thank you

Hi,
What if you did not access to BIOS or LCC, is the server able to complete it's POST until it stops where it says no boot device found? Can you provide me the previous mainboard and replacement mainboard DPN#.
Could you try only these components in the server, and try accessing to BIOS:
• System Board
• CPU1 with heat sink (minimum for troubleshooting)
• Single DIMM configuration with DIMM in socket A1
• Control Panel with cable (to power system on)
• Expansion Riser
• PSU (and for redundant PSU also the PDB/PIB)
Have you tried power flea troubleshooting? - Unplug power cables, press and hold power button for 15secs. Install power cables back and turn on the server.
Let me know if it helps.

To reset the idrac to default you would need to run the
RACADM RACRESETCFG command, as seen here.
Let us know how it goes.

Hello
Seems BIOS version of the new system board is v1.5.1 I installed my old idrac7 card on the new system board, but before I updated the idrac and LC to the latest firmware and now they are conflicting somehow
I will have someone on site to reset my idrac to a factory default because the idrac username and password was changed I am unfamiliar how exactly the that work but ....
I just want to ask if and how do I restore idrac to factory default so I can access it and upgrade the system I believe it will fix that problem. I had the same issue before when I downgraded the bios by mistake and when I restarted it frozen the same way, but I had access to IDRAC then and it was easy to fix that
Thank you

Hello xlameee-dell,
What was the result of bringing it down to minimum to post components that Joey suggested?
Were you able to enter F2 or F10?
Did you try defaults user: root, password: calvin to log into the DRAC?
Try this process:
Boot to F2 > iDRAC Settings > Reset iDRAC configurations to defaults
Save, Exit, Reboot to F2
Boot to F2 > iDRAC Settings > Network.
Configure IP, Subnet and Gateway.
Note connection being used i.e. LOM1, Dedicated…..Dedicated preferred. Be sure to connect cable to dedicated port on back, the one with wrench icon.
Default credentials are user: root, password: calvin.
Are you able to boot to the OS? If so is OMSA or DRAC Tools installed?
If you can and have either of those installed run the RACADM RACRESETCFG from command line.
If you cannot boot to the OS and cannot get into system setup F2 or F10 then use a WinPE environment:
Dell EMC iDRAC Tools for Microsoft WinPE, v9.4.0
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=3vmw5&oscode=wst14&productcode=poweredge-r320
Installation instructions at the bottom of page.
Run RACADM RACRESETCFG

Hello
I've got the BIOS by removing only my network card and set a new password to the idrac7 now I have full iDrac7 access
But I return all cards before I updated the BIOS and now I am on the same page but I have iDrac7 full access
and I am trying to use racadm to disable Slot1 and Slot2 so I can pass the freezing point and upgrade the BIOS. I remember last time I execute command on the racadm to disable the slots, but big but don't remember the command
racadm set BIOS.SlotDisablement.Slot1 ?????? Tab:
Thank you

Hello
Somehow this command didn't work
I had to go
cd BIOS
cd SlotDisablement
and then execute
Slot1 Disabled
Strange but that's how I did it. But there was not point of this command anyway
because I had to schedule a job in order to disable those slots and the server had to go to LC in order to disable it
and as you know It freeze before entering LC, so if that happen there is nothing you can do except
removing the hardware upgrading the BIOS and putting back the hardware.
So it is not fully remote after all.
---------------------------------------------
I just want to ask in order to use the VGA port on the back do I have to change something in the BIOS or LC
I have an AVOCENT KVM and when I tried to Remote View the screen I can't see anything, but I have mouse and keyboard control
---------------------------------------------
Thank you

Hi,
As far as I know, there is no direct option to use KVM, but can you check if the embedded video controller has somehow changed to disabled. "F2> System Setup> System BIOS> Integrated Devices", you can also look at the "Slot Disablement" section at the bottom of this page. If these don't work and somehow you can get to Lifecycle Controller F10. You can try resetting everything including NVCaches from the Repurpose section. However, here the iDRAC and BIOS will return to their default settings. Pay attention to this. Boot into the LifeCycle Controller (LCC) using F10 key during POST. Go to Hardware Configuration -> Repurpose or Retire the System and then select all the features you would like to delete or wipe off the system. This will restore the system to factory default
