How long takes a full sync over 1GB network?

How long can take full sync of 2TB datas over 1GB network?
It takes here about 1 week :(
The network usage is about 3 - 5 %.
Is there a possibility to tune this?

Even though you have a Gbps network, there may be some tuning that needs to be done with RepliStor, or perhaps it is also finding some latency on your network.

Go to Maintenance -> Options -> Performance.
What are the metrics in this page currently set to?

If they are configured for the Fast LAN setting, attempt bringing them down to the WAN settings, but still using ~8 Target Connections.

It is possible that using a higher valued TCP packets is some thing your network can not handle.

Hi,

The most effective tuning is to set Compression Level 0.

This setting is effective by my experience most.

Set it, and please try it.

And set to Optimize for "Fast Lan".

Hello,

According to my experience 1 GbE network provides around 70 MB/sec of effective throughput when nobody else than you is using the network. I consider it a reliable rule of thumb.

It all depends on the connectivity between the 2 sites.

I've seen SRDF between 370km (230 miles) over FCIP (Cisco 9216i) with a combined bandwidth of 1.2Gb actually performing at 400MBps ! The 9216i's have compression and bandwidth optimization.

Note: this only worked when the LUN's were initially replicated. LUN's with data on them were a bit slower, but still much faster than the theoretical "RAW" speed.

If the transfer is within the same site then you are limited to the max performance of your core switches. Our core switches are pretty old and thus our internal LAN copies take ages to complete. If copying inter-site then your WAN link will be the bottleneck.

Diffently, you have to tune your connection is it an FCIP ? check the cisci MSD 9000 family cookbook for FCIP tunning mainly FCIP write accelaration and FCIP compression .

if you are using 1GB link it should takes 4.5-5.00hrs ..

Like I said, I've seen 400MBps over 1.2Gbps using MDS9216i's, so 2TB could take about 1.5 hours if all goes well Theoretically if the LUN's only have easily compressable data on them, like 0's or 1's.... A LUN that's been in use for some time will be a lot slower, since the compression will take longer.
