Getting ESRS status 2961 when trying to download ESRS Kit
Hi all,
I get status 2961 when downloading ESRSKit during install of ESRS IP Client 1.1.33.10048.
The host is a VM behind a proxy server but all the connection tests pass and it gets the correct address from the site id.
This is the latest level but it still tries to download the kit.......
Attached is the log of the install.
Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Greetings...we touched base with ESRS Engineering and were told there isn't sufficient information available within your post to effectively answer the question. Unless it has been resolved since the post was made, the recommendation is to open a service request fso that engineering can begin working the issue. Note: It sounds like this is an issue configuring ESRS on a CLARiiON or VNX management station, so your service request should be handled by that product group, not by the ESRS Gateway support team.

I'm receiving the same failure at the end of the ESRS IP Client installation.

I have followed up with engineering, and for this specific issue there is additional information required. Have any of you opened a service request or resolved the issue? If so, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post your resolution for other customers and partners to view.

Answer from EMC:
Windows 2008 R2 is not supported!
I should try to install on Windows 2008 SP2...
Do you guys have the same OS base installation?

the Provisioning Tool Error: Error Code 2961 No software found. Installation will be terminated generaly idicateds that the OS on which hte ESRS Client is being instaled on is not a support OS. Support for Windows 2k8 R2 and Windows 7 is expected in the near future. Please check the release notes and other documentation ofr supported operting systems
Something else I notice in the log is that it appears they may be SSL checking / Certificate verification on the SSL traffic to the GAS server as all the connections fail see excerpt below :
18/06/12 11:45 PM INFO: Connect succeeded but SSL handshake failed: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
SSL Checking / Certificate Verification is NOT supported and WILL cause communication failure to EMC network firewall / proxy servers must be configured to not perform any form of SSL Checking / Certificate Verification as EMC 's infrastructure will detect this as a tampered packet and drop it
