According to support documentation the only supported distro's of Linux are:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3 and 4.
These are Linux Kernel versions 2.4.21-4.ELsmp and 2.6.9-78.ELsmp
with recommended libstdc++ version of 2.96 or newer when the global console is to be displayed from the Linux machine.
I'm not sure when (or where) the version check is performed. You MAY be able to get it to work if you ensure the proper Kernel versions, but even then the install would not be supported by EMC.

I have installed it on CENTOS and it works fine both the SAM and IP manager.
