How are you backing up SourceOne (S1)?

Hello

Interested in hearing how you are all backing up SourceOne?   I am doing it as per recommendations from EMC but need to rethink my strategy.

My S1 setup has about 4TB of archives and indexes and 200GB or SQL data.   SQL backups are being taken care of by DBA team who can get me back to within 15 minites of a failure at anytime so am ok here I think.

When I backup S1 we run the Suspend and Resume scripts provided by EMC which pretty much make the system unusable and inaccessible while suspeneded.  Getting 4TB to tape is taking me 14+ hours for fulls and then another 40-60 mins each night for incrementals.

Problem is that I do have people who use the system are really unsociable hours of weekends so I really need to get around this very long outage when I run my fulls.

I have some ideas on what I can do to resolve this but would love to hear what other admins are doing?

Thanks!

Our SQL DBA team also backs up our system to within around 15 minutes of a failure, and we use NetWorker to run full backups each night (we have less than 1 TB of data, with backups running a little over an hour).
