0F00:0244 Uncorrectable Data Error

I tried to boot up my computer today only to find a blue error screen, I cant remember exactly, but it said something about needing to boot in safe mode. I tried that, got the same screen. Before Windows could boot I hit F12 and ran diagnostics. On the IDE Read Test I found that many blocks that gave me this message: "0F00:0244 Uncorrectable Data Error". Maybe its just the language, but I cant help but feel like Im totally not gonna be able to fix this. Can anyone offer a clue as to what might be the problem???

The hard drive is failing and needs to be replaced. If under warranty, email or call Dell with the error message and they'll ship you a replacement drive.

If out of warrany, buy the same type of drive (i.e., EIDE if EIDE or SATA if SATA).

intell2122,

Hard drives do not come with Windows XP installed. You will need to use your own cd to install once you receive the drive.

Do new HDs come with XP or do I have to shell out more money for that too

What can I do if my Inspiron 600m didn't come with a XP cd to install Windows?
