2400 Dimension doesn't start at all

Question

I have a Dimension 2400 and it's less than 2 yrs old. For a while when I pressed the power button, nothing would happen except that the power light would blink the amber color. But after a while, it would turn on and work fine. Now when I press the power button, the power light just turns on but its really faint. I know something is wrong with the hard drive because the monitor and everything else seems to be working just fine. If anyone can help me out with this problem, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Your problem definitely sounds like the power supply has failed. If your system is still under warranty, you can call Dell Spare Parts (1-800-372-3355) to purchase a replacement.

SilverSurfer15,   My reply to you about your system was not correct.  I meant to say fhat if your system is NOT under warranty, you can call the Dell Spare Parts folks to purchase a replacement.  If your system is still under warranty, then you should call the Dell Techies so that they can arrange for a replacement power supply for you.  I apologize for my error.   Steve
