4100 won't play dvds

Just installed sony 820 dvd rw drive. It will not play dvds. They start to play real choppy then the software errors and says to try updating video card drivers. I believe the card is updated as much as it can be. It is a Dell 4100 p3 933 with a tnt2 64 nvidea card. Does anyone else still have this card? Is this card capaable of playing dvds? The software is nero.
