A new drive?
I am thinking of replacing my stock DVD drive on my D8200 WinXP SP2.I do not know the BIOS.I am looking at a Plextor 12X DVD+/- RW drive Model #PX-712A Black retail drive. At Newegg.com it sells for $ 100.00 +5.00 ship. There is a $30.00 rebate on it.I like to know if this would be good choice for me?Does it do all the reading and writing DVD and CD?Will it fit into the place of the old drive which I would have no need for after.I am not handy and wondering if I also would have to change the BIOS on my system?Do you think its a good price for this drive?
Thanks a lot for any help....

Hi George,
Many of us here are fond of the Plextor drivers, for what my opinions worth (about an nickel), it would be a very good choice and yes it will fit in your system. You will find installation tips under Product Support Tab / User Guides and also in Section 4 of the CD/RW link in my post.
Seasons Greetings !
God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.
