Adding Hard drive with RAID 0 on XPS

I have an XPS Gen 4 with duel 160 GB HDs configured in RAID 0.

Earlier today I tried to add an external 250GB hard drive (a SATA drive that plugged into a PCI card.) for backing up and warehousing data from the main drives. I ran into a problem with there being no compatible power connecter to connect to the PCI card to supply power to the drive.

While poking around inside, I discovered that an external drive may not be necessary. There appears to an available third bay for an additional hard drive to fit into. I had previously assumed that you couldn’t add a third hard drive as the configuration utility blocked you from selecting a third hard drive when I purchased my PC. I have some reservations about installing another internal hard drive there though.

• Would there be any configuration issues with having 2 RAID drives and one regular drive?
• Would there be any heat dissipation issues with three hard drives installed? I noticed that the two current drives have ¾ inch space between them, presumably to allow for air flow. Curiously, the open hard drive slot has no space between it and one of the currently installed drives, and would allow for almost no air flow.
• Was there some other reason why you cannot configure an XPS system with three hard drives?
