Additional Hard Drive Not Responding/Recognized
Hi all, new to posting.
I've just recently bought a 320GB SATA Hitatchi Hard Drive to use along with my current Hard Drive bought with my Dimension E521. I have it in my secondary drive station but it's not recognized or even noticed by my machine (I only have the power cable plugged in to the drive).
I did try the new 'HD' in the primary station but it asks for a system disc - I didn't get one when I purchased the 'HD'.
Any suggestions, links will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi, Thanks for your speedy response!
I haven't tinkered with my machine much, but I thought that it would need something leading in to it. I'll go buy one they look pretty cheap on the auction sites.
I've only got the Microsoft Works disc that came with the comp'. I inserted it when I tried to use the new Hard Drive as a primary, but it didn't register it.
Thanks again,
Mark.

If the Dell Operating System Reinstallation disk, was not shipped with your system.
You should be able to obtain the disks required for reinstallation from here.
