Audio disc burning problem - all programs
I have an Inspiron 1545 running Windows 7 64 bit with iTunes 64 bit.
When I burn an audio CD, there are songs missing. The CD seems to burn OK, but there are songs missing in the middle or at the end. One CD had all songs, but the last song stopped about a minute into the song.
When I play the audio CD, and it gets to a song that's improperly burned, it freezes iTunes or Windows Media Player.
Burns data CDs ok and data DVDs ok.
May have something to do with a Region change on the DVD player, when I put in a DVD movie it said I needed to change the region, which I did, to United States.
I don't think this is a hardware issue, otherwise it wouldn't burn data CDs/DVDs correctly.
Help!

Hi, jcalaw63:
Just need a bit more information. What source files are you using? What program are you using to burn these audio discs? What media (brand and speed)?

What source files are you using?
mp3 files and m4a files. mp3s downloaded from Napster and Amazon. m4a files from the iTunes store or ripped from CDs.
What program are you using to burn these audio discs?
iTunes produces failed audio CDs. Windows Media Player produces failed audio CDs. Roxio Burn produced a successful mp3 only CD. Windows Explorer produced a successful data DVD (over 700 jpg files...)
What media (brand and speed)?
Sony, Memorex, CDs & DVDs off the shelf at Best Buy...
Thanks!!!

Sony should be ok. They're usually made by MCC or TY, both very good manufacturers. I personally avoid Memorex, which are usually made by Ritek (poor quality).
Just for kicks, try ImgBurn (link in Osprey's Toolbox below). It supports all Windows versions, including 64-bit. I realize you cannot burn M4a files, but try a few MP3s.
Have you checked downloads for a firmware update for your drive?

This drive will not burn an audio CD correctly. It burns data to DVD's and CD's just fine. But it won't burn an audio CD. Roxio doesn't work, iTunes doesn't work, and Windows Media Player doesn't work.
Could this be a problem caused by installing 64 bit iTunes on the machine?
