backing up DSR

I have a Dell 4700 with a 40gb hard drive that came factory and just recently got a Seagate 300gb hard drive. I put the 300gb SATA hard drive as slave and used Norton Ghost to back everything from the 40gb hard drive over to the 300gb hard drive. I assigned the 300gb hard drive the letter H: and it currently works fine. I now want to use my 300gb hard drive as the main and primary hard drive and format the 40gb to use as a spare/back-up drive. I read somewhere that Dell has already installed the Dell System Restore files and utility on the hard drive that the computer first came with. When I used Norton Ghost to back up the 40gb hard drive, there is also an option for backing up the Dell Utility which shows [Size: 39mb and Used 8mb], and the Dell Restore which also shows [Size: 3209mb and Used: 2950]. The problem is, when I click on one of those and click to the next step where Norton Ghost asks for a location, I click the H: hard drive and it warns me that everything will be wiped out..the thing is I just backed up my entire 40gb hard drive over to this new drive and I don't want this 300gb to just contain the System Restore files and not have my C: drive contents. My other question is, I can't find these back-up files using the search tool in Windows, so is there any way to back-up Dell's System Restore files to a CD or to the new H: drive? How do I get the Dell System Restore, Utility and all my prior 40gb stuff over to the new 300gb hard drive without having to overwrite anything, and when can i swap the SATA cables so then the 300gb is the master?

 

Another question off topic is are hard drives of this size always so noisy? When pulling something up in the H: drive (300gb) I can hear the disk spinning, and its noticeably noisy; is there something wrong?

 

I also wanted to know, can you reboot and reformat the entire computer so then it does not have any Dell branding? Like setting the computer as if it never came from Dell so it does not have any of the Dell Updates or anything like that, and just use it as a computer that you built yourself?
