Can the BD-R drive on the XPS 9000 write to dual layer discs?

What model of drive is it? Look in the Device Manager .........
Click on the (+) next to DVD/CD-ROM drives. This will reveal the Brand and Model of
drive. Please post that.

I don't own the XPS 9000. I'm doing some pre-purchase research

My intent was to link you to the drives manual for the specifications.
My guess is that it will write DVD-RDL and DVD+RDL discs. Can't say
for sure without the drive model number, but Dual-Layer is fairly standard
with drives today. Contact Dell sales to see if they can verify.

Assuming you mean dual-layer DVD discs... it almost certainly will be able to write to them?
But I suspect it will only be able to read standard Blu-Ray discs - not write to blank discs?
A Blu-Ray writer option will undoubtedly be an upgrade option for it though?
But given the high cost of blank Blu-Ray discs, and the (relatively) low cost of alternative media - such as high capacity pendrives, and external hard drives, I personally (still) wouldn't pay the premium for a Blu-Ray writer.
