Best Brand for DVD's????

Does anyone know what the best brand for blank DVD's is???

I tried Pine and Kodak and found them to be subpar.

I have a Phillips DVD drive 8631
And my desktop is a  Dimension 4600 1 month old

I'm going to buy some Memorex, some TDK and some other name brand DVD's and I'll post my verdict later this week in this forum

So far I have had good luck with RiDATA (Ritek) 4x DVD-R discs with two of my DVD burners. Currently I have a Philips 8631 and Plextor 708A. Out of 38 discs I have made 5 coasters but most of that was due to a combination of software and hardware issues with my new Dell Dimension 8400 computer.

The ones that work!  Your question is a tough one to answer.

Not all brands or batches of DVD media are equal.  When you
begin, stay with small quantities of the well known brands
(Sony, TDK, Memorex, Verbatum, etc.) until you establish what
will consistently work for you.  Avoid house brand or off
brand DVD media, and it looks like you just learned that lesson.

Post the Brand and Model of your drive and some Users who have
the same drive may share the brands of DVD media they are using
successfully.

I don't know what is the best,  but I have so far used media (DVD+R/RW, CDR/RW) from verbatim and benq - not a single coaster.

My XPS has a 12x DVD+RW drive from Hitachi.
