Blank DVD not recognized

Question

hello,   I have a inspiron 1200 laptop and im having problems burning dvd's and making copies to system.  the model and make of my system is: Philips CDR/DVD Fireware revision: TD15 Supported Media: CD-R,CD-RW Now i purchased several Blank DVD's to burn my dvd movies onto but my system can't recognize no of them. I used CD-R printable and CD-R. so what can i do?

young82   CDR/DVD means that the device can burn CDs but can only read DVDs. It cannot burn DVDs. You'll need a DVD burner to do that.  A DVD burner will indicate DVD-R, DVD+R or DVD+-R.   -Mike   Message Edited by Simmerheli on 03-21-2006 07:47 PM
