booting from external drive
anyone know how i can set up to boot from an external hard drive(connected to usb port).

Depends on the system -- only the newer systems can; the older C-series chassis (8000/8100/8200/4000/4100/4150/etc.) cannot.

When you power on you will get a message telling you to strike a certain function key (f12 i think?) for boot options ... select USB
