Both DVD Drives crashed
Both the DVD drives on my PC crashed last night, according to the Windows Vista device manager. So far I have had no luck finding a driver on the Sony site for the Sony one I can’t use the Dell driver’s disk on this PC as the drives dont work but I had a look on the other computer and it didn’t look like a lot of help. The drives are HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-H31N and SONY DVD-ROM DDU1615S.
The windows solution checker is a useless as well. Anyone know how I could get them working again. What about restore points, I remove all but the most recent one quite often as Windows takes loads of them which takes loads of space but I should have a few on the HDD ATM.

Since I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "crashed", this is going to be a bit of guesswork. Go to the FAQ and look up the instructions for a "code 39" error for Vista. Follow those instructions.
After you do that and you are still seeing a problem, then please post back and provide a description of what exactly is and is not working.

Sorry I should have given more detail. Yea thats error but the problem is when i am going through the thing i found in the FAQ the program "regedit" will not load for me when i click on it. Just asks me would i like to continue (like just about every other program on Vista lol) but does not load after that.

Owing to my complete newbieness with regard to Vista, I'm going to send you over to the Vista forum for help with the regedit issue. Once that is solved, then go back to the FAQ and run through the procedure. That will definitely fix you right up!
