Can I remove a RAID 0 configuration?
I've got a new Studio 540 that came with dual 640GB drives in a RAID 0 configuration and Vista HP 64. I'm not interested in the RAID configuration as I want both the space and the data security.
I'd like to remove the RAID configuration but without harming the OS/data that's on there (not much yet as it's brand new). I saw something in the setup screens about removing RAID, but does that mean I'd have to reload the OS? If I have to, I will, but if there's an easier way I'd take that as the first option.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
The box is a Q8200/8GB setup if that matters to anyone.

Removing the RAID configuration will destory the data. If you do this a reinstall is in order. Good Luck!

speaking of RAID, I've an xps 400 that won't boot, it says the raid must be rebuilt but the keyboard doesn't work any ideas?

No, there is no easy way, to remove a RAID 0 array, you would need to carry a clean reinstall of Vista and reload all the drivers and applications.

Forgot to come back and check on this. I knew better, but I was hoping against hope that there would be a way to do it.
I have two PCs to rebuild now, the 540 because I don't want RAID 0 and an older Dell that has been fantastic for the last 5 years. :)
Lot's of work, but what are you going to do? :emotion-1:
