cannot burn to vcd using corel slideshow
I keep getting a fatal error and the program shutting down. I just purchased this computer dim. 510 with 1 gig of ram 3.2 p4 processor. the dvd drive is a
HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstall but that didn't work. I can burn music dvd using the sonic program that came with the computer but cant burn to pictures to vcd. anyone? I did notice that in the vcd setting in the program the burn rate comes up as 48 and you cannot change the speed to anything else.

Hi Quazzer,
When you say "program" shutting down, do you mean Windows or the burning program you are using. If Windows, go to Device Manager, select the drive click Uninstall, shutdown. Open the case and disconnect the drive from the IDE cable and the Power Cable. If it the second drive "Middle" connection on the IDE cable, fine, if it is the drive in the Top bay and you have another drive, move the "end" connection to the other drive. Now re-boot, does the fatal errors vanish? If so, I would contact Dell for a replacement.
