Cant open cd tray on new computer

I can not open the cd tray on my brand new inspiron 8600, the drive is a dvd-rom. i push the button to open the tray and nothing happens. i also try ejecting the tray by right clicking on the drive in my computer and clicking eject and nothing happens either.  any ideas?

Pull the drive out and put it back in. If that doesn't work and you have a disk in there, to open the manually, there is a small pin hole next to the button. Put a pin in there and push, that is the mecanical way to open it.

Do a search on the forum for Sonic DLA.  Disable Sonic DLA and your problem will go away.  Note: You will still be able to burn CDs.
