How to Trouble shooting your CD-ROM /DVD-ROM drive
Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 15, article 1 and Section 11, article 2 to clear any possible driver issue. Also you may have a loose connection which will require opening the case and re-seating the IDE cabl.
