CD Burner not working
I have had my deminsion 1100 for about 6 months now
The cd writes is TS-H492
It will read cds but it wont copy cds at all.
I have tried it on a few other computers and its giving the same problem.
Anyone know what I should do?

Hi Carol,
Since the drive is acting the same in different systems, one would assume this to be more of a hardware problem than software.
If your drive is the B version, try this Dell firmware update.

Hi Carol,
Then your drive may be the 492C version. i have a Dell test listed in Section 12, article 3, step#2 within the CD/RW link in my post. Please run this, if it fails and you are under warranty, contact Dell, reference this thread to the Tech. Chances are good the Tech will recommend replacement of the drive.
