cd drive will not eject cd/dvd

It's possible that the disk is stuck.

Get your self a paper clip and unfold it. 

Look at the front of the CD driver and you will see a small hole. 

Push the paperclip into this hole and the drawer will open. once it opens enough to grab you can then pull it fully open.

This solution worked flawlessly other than the awful sounds and beeping my computer made when I tried it.

What "solution" are you speaking about, that caused "awful sounds and beeping"?

Does it relate to the topic being discussed in this thread?

I have the similar difficulty, in my Dell Studio w/ Vista. It says it cannot detect a disc in the disc drive for media. It refuses to eject it, therefore. I see no hole for a paperclip to work anything in, though. Please help, must watch new videos, games! thanx

XPS slot load cd will not eject either.  I can find no emergency release for the cd.

I experience the same problem here. My Dell XPS Studio 1645 currently cannot eject a disk inside of it. I tried to press the eject button, the laptop sounded like it is doing something to eject the CD, however the CD won't come out. Could you guide me how to eject my DVD which is stuck inside of it? What small hole do you mean?

II have exactly the same problem.  Have you found a solution????  There is no whole as the CD disk area is a slide in and not a drawer.
