CD Rom not reading anything

I have the Samsung SC-148C in my Dimesion 8200 which has just suddenly stop reading anything.  When a disk is inserted, seems the cd rom runs fine, i can hear it spinning up but after about a min, it stops and absolutely nothing happens.  Ive tried accesing cd rom thru My Computer but every time i click on cd player, i get message saying please insert disk into drive d.  i've also tried to trouble shoot but to no avail. little help please???

Try to clear the NVRAM by going to the system setup and turn on all the lights on your keyboard and the press Alt + E and then reset the BIOS to factory default by pressing Alt + F. You should hear beeps when you press the keys. If it still does not work, remove lower and upper filters of the CD in the Registry Editor.

Hi Drum,

To Clear the NVRAM please click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 11, article 2.
Also some additional standard steps; same CD/RW link, Section 15, article 1; Section 20, article 3.
You can try Dell trouble shooting articles in Section 15, article 16 and Section 12, article 2; Section 6-3, article 26.

For help with the Upper & Lower Filters, same CD/RW link, Section 12, article 10.
