CD21.exe Older than Drives - Warning Message

I got a message totay from the automatic Dell Support application running on my 4700 that said"

"Philips, the manufacturer of your DVD-RW drive released an update to the drives firmware.  This update resolves certain DVD burning problem.... Once the download is complete, Double-click the CD21.exe file to install the update."

When I execute CD21.exe, I get the following warning "The version of F/w is older than drive's.  Do you really want to flash?"

Well.... I don't want to load older F/W...so I canceled out.

Is this warning message correct?  Why would the Dell Support System come up and tell me that I should update, when I actually have newer stuff already in my DVD drive?

I'm confused as to whether or not I should install it... Help!
