CD/DVD BURNER

Hi:

I was wondering if you could help me out, finding a cd/dvd burner for my dimension 3000.
I've been searching but have no idea which one will be compatible with my dimension 3000.

Any suggestions I would really appreciate.

Thank -You

If you search this forum, you will find two brands consistently recommended, Plextor and Pioneer. The current versions of these are the Plextor PX-716A and the Pioneer DVR-A09 (same as DVR-109). I suggest you do a Google search for reviews of these two burners and see which makes an impression on you.

When you're ready to buy, I wholeheartedly recommend Newegg.com. Here is a link to their DVD burner page:

Most vendors offer a program call Nero OEM Suite for a very nominal cost (<$10) with the purchase of any drive, so make sure you get that.

i'd still recommend to call dell sales department and povide them your service tag/express service code because from there they can verify from your records and can recommend the best and compatible device for your system

Hi Priman,

Any standard IDE drive will work with you system, as John stated Poineer and Plextor tend to get the best recommendations, if you do choose Dell, then please avoid the Philips drives, they have not faired well.

Best Regards
