CD/DVD player freeze
Hi,
When I insert Roxio install CD into my DVD/CD player and click setup.exe, there is nothing happened. When I use MS explorer to display the contents, it takes more than a minutes to get the directory displayed or it does not display at all. When I put in a DVD, the Windows Media Center will start play the DVD but it will freeze in few minutes and I can not kill the Windows Media Center and the screen is black. However I did use the Dell Diagnostic Utility CD to perform hardware disagnotic and everything seems OK.
It seems DVD/CD player can read DVD contents at begining but the playing software will freeze eventually. What should I do to correct the problem? Is a hardware problem or a software problem? What is the approach to isolate the problem?
My system is Dell M6400 with 64 bit Vista. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

It could be as simple as a dirty lense so it can't read the DVD, but it could be a hardware or a software problem, make sure the drivers are all up to date by checking device manager and the dell update website
