CD/DVD wont accept disks, auto eject them
Hello Dell community, i have problem with my Dell Studio 1747 cd/dvd drive. When i try insert cd or dvd it accept it for 2 sec than automatically eject it (here is video: ) . Im using Windows 8.1 Pro, in device manager there is no yellow exclamation-mark icon, the device name is HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GA31N. I tryed Troubleshoot CD/DVD with Microsoft Fix It and it say media in CD/DVD is not readable (HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GA31N) .Here is image

Hi,
One quick test you can try is to go into your System Setup (BIOS) and try inserting a disk when in BIOS. If the drive auto ejects them when in BIOS that is a good indication that the drive has failed and needs to be replaced. (Probably the eject mechanism).
Try different disk media, both CD and DVD, when running the test.
Let us know what you find out.

Hi Pavelmk,
I think your drive is defective and needs to be replaced.

Hi,
Unfortunately I agree with Osprey. If it isn't working in BIOS then it's a hardware issue.
Wish I had other news for you.
