Cleaning DVD+/ RW Drive

I bought a Dell Inspiron 537s desktop in December. It has a 16X DVD+/RW drive. My question is how does one go about cleaning it when the time may arise? Can you use a standard DVD cleaning disk, or is there a special one for computers? It doesn't need cleaning now, but I would like to be prepared in advance. Also, how often should one clean it. With regular DVD players, it's usually every 10 hours of use. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Never. Computers dvd drives don't need to be cleaned under normal use. Even dvd players for tv's don't ever need cleaning since they don't have heads that get dirty. You are thinking about vcr's--a totally diff technology.
