computer backup
I have Dell Studio 17 laptop. It says that I have to backup to recordable dvds. Why can't I backup to removal external hard drive?

Hi, Cullaroj:
I assume by "it", you are referring to your backup software. Can you tell me what you are using by way of software to back up your files?

I have a studio xps 1640 and use Ghost as my backup program. I backup to an external hard drive. I see no reason that you can not do the same. Given this is an option with your backup software.

This sounds like an issue with Ghost. Perhaps you should check with the Symantec support site. Our forum primarily deals with hard drive and CD/DVD issues.
