Copy error

I just formatted my external HD, now I'm facing this error when copying files "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" Any Idea what this means? Have a nice day. BR, LogoMan

Test both drives - the internal one with the Dell diagnostics (F12 at boot) and the external with its manufacturer's test utility.
