D drive won't read CD - HELP!

Question

I recently purchased  the EZ Writer CD/DVD burner for my computer, installed it, and had no problems until I bought my son a new game.  Now my D drive won't recognize that there's a CD and keeps telling me to 'Please insert a disc into drive D'.  What's causing this problem and how do I fix it?  I uninstalled the EZ writer and disconnected it to see if that would solve the problem, but it hasn't.  The computer still doesn't recognize that there's a disc in the drive already.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Dara

Yes, it came with software, which I uninstalled, but the game he bought still won't work in the CD drive.  We did get the game to install with the new EZ Writer, but it won't play.  I'm thinking I don't have the right kind of driver for the game or something.  Maybe you can help?  I didn't buy this computer with gaming in mind, so the driver is probably not good enough for the game.  I'm not a computer wiz so all this is confusing to me.  I'm simply going on what my family member told me.  How can I find out what driver my computer has and whether what I have is good enough for the game?  Dara

Ok, let me get a few more details. What is the model of your system? And please look up the model of your drive (in device manager).   When I asked about the software, I was hoping you'd tell me exactly what you installed. That's the most likely source of this problem.
