D & E DRIVE CANNOT BE FOUND

​ I have Windows XP Home Edition. My D & E Drives are not opening. I have those short cuts on my desktop. When I right click to try to open them in this manner, the message I get is "this shortcut has been changed or moved". When I look in My Computer, neither drive is listed. I don't know what has happened. What can I do? ​
