d:// not accessible

My drive will not play cd's regular or burnt.  i have this software on my computer where I store music from my cd to my computer and I can then make a mixed cd. everytime I try to access it, it says d:// not accessible and makes a thud sound.  When I insert a regular cd the green light comes on and I hear it spinning but it doesnt play.  I tried going straight to the d drive and trying to open it, nothing happens

I have already tried trouble shooting with the help menu, and I have done everything it has asked me.  INCLUDING UNINSTALLING AND RE-INSTALLING THE DRIVE.  I emphasize this because my next step is to come to this forum to see if anyone else has had similar problems... which I do find a lot, but I see the same answers and no other resolutions.. and that hasn't worked!! I need another solution of what the problem may be.  OH, and from my computer, I can manually eject the cd thats in the drive. It will do that, but only that.

Hi Tladie,

Sometimes we will see this message when your burning software has become corrupt. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling it?

Also some have had limited success with removing the Upper and Lower Filters.
Please click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 12, article 10. (Ignore the reference to Roxio)

Best Regards

God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do
and the eyesight to tell the difference.
