Dell R930 doesn't see any drives

Hi,

I am working on a Dell PE R930 that was originally configured to boot off of 2 sd cards in a raid 1 configuration.  I am repurposing that for something else now and wanted to boot from a couple of identical drives I pulled from an R730.  Both drives do not have an OS on them, are Dell branded, and came with the 730 system originally.  When I put them in the R930, in bay 0 and 1, and boot the system it basically doesn't seem to see that either one exists at all in the bios or otherwise.  The server was working fine when it was initially shut down and it will boot to the sd cards with no issues.  I have also tried reseating the Perc, the backplane and all of the cables.

Not sure if they are on the approved list, but I have also tried two brand new Samsung ssd's just to make sure it wasn't just a used drive issue.  Drac says there are no physical disks to be displayed, tried ctrl-r on boot and it reports no physical disks present.  All drivers and firmware have been updated. At this point I guess I am wondering, if this server was configured to boot off of sd cards from Dell, can they boot from ssd's?  I am thinking I may just be missing a step or setting somewhere at this point.  Any feedback is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
