Dell system restore utility?

I’m having some intermittent problems and I may be getting ready to have a hard drive crash and burn.

My hard drive has the Dell utility that I can run and return it to the “as shipped” state. I assume that it’s a non-dos partition. It there a way to back it up for use on a new hard drive?  (XPS 410, Win XP)

the partition is not a non dos but it is a hidden partition. The best way would be to do a complete image of the drive to include all partitions.

There is a small non dos partition on the drive that is used for the diagnostics program. I used Acronis to do just that when I swithed my main hd from a Cavair to a raptor and it worked flawlessly.
