Disk I/O error - Replace the disk and then press any key
Hi I cannot boot my Inspiron 8100 and keep getting error message 'Disk I/O error - Replace the disk and then press any key'. The laptop performance has deteriorated gradually over a period of time and in the last couple opf weeks has crashed more frequently and taken anything from 30 mins to a few hours to reboot and now will not reboot at all!!! I am desperate to get the information in my email inbox off the laptop - any ideas???

Then replace the drive in the system and run the Dell diagnostics to confirm the failure. Replace the drive.
DO NOT PLAY WITH TRYING TO BOOT WINDOWS on a failing drive - BACK UP FIRST.
