Does SATA RAID Mode Enable AHCI?
The SATA controller for my Studio XPS 8100 is in RAID mode. I understand that, in general, RAID mode enables AHCI. But since I plan to add a SSD, I need to be sure.
How can I know for sure whether my SATA controller enables AHCI?

Yes, the RAID On mode on an Intel chipset based computer also enables AHCI. Some Intel based computers will also run a non-RAID AHCI mode, but RAID mode on these computers requires AHCI to be enabled.
