Hmm.. this is Interesting.

Okay, what you can try first is a system restore to a date when it was working before. See if that works for you. Sometimes clearing the logs from the BIOS helps. Now I am not sure what system you are using so can not provide you the steps. But you can press F2 on the Dell logo to Enter the setup and the clear the logs. See if that works.

You can also try a Firmware update, that works at times. And by reading, have you tried to access them from My Computer Icon. Sometimes you are looking for Auto Start, which does not always work.

Hi MisterChilz,

Jas is working your thread, so I want to make a quick comment then slide back into stealth mode and get out of her/his way. To Clear the NVRAM on your 3100 series, click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 11, article 2. Also of all your posts, we failed to ask what is the name/model of the drive in question? A firmware date as Jas mentioned may indeed be available, my apologies for not asking this sooner.

Best Regards!

God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.
