DVD Burner

Question

I have a Dimension 8300 with a DVD-ROM and CDRW. I have a project where I am going to scan all my family photo's to DVD and am looking for a DVD burner. I have hundreds of photo's to scan and some are very old. Can anyone recommend a DVD burner that would be good for this?   Thanks, Tina

Tina: They both support DVD+R, DVD+RW and DVD-R, DVD-RW, usually referred to as DVD±RW. So there is no difference there.

I have done some research on the plextor and pioneer DVD burners and they seem to support different formats. Which one would be best?   Thanks again, Tina

So it would not matter if I use DVD-R or DVD+R discs for my family photo project?

For data, format makes no difference. Let me suggest that you visit http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia to check what others have to say about different brands and formats in terms of reliability and compatibility. Not all media are created equal.
