DVD / CD drive does not work
Hi Hopefully someone can help
I have a dell inspron one and for some reason the disc drive does not open
when you press the utton to open the disc drive no light flashes and it does nothing
I managed to manually open the drive and put a disc in and then when to my computer but it did not recognise the disc and said there was no D drive which sounds as though it has lost the link
does anyone know how I fix this ?
any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my sons computer

Hi Tonybin brissy,
Sure sounds to me that your drive has failed and needs to be replaced. My suggestion would be to contact Dell about a replacement drive.

Perhaps his power and/or signal cable has simply come loose

Open the My Computer icon on your windows desktop. Right click the DVD drive, is there an option to EJECT? If yes, click it. What happens?
