DVD8631 from Philips exploded
My friend's Philips drive (that came in his Dim 3000) literally exploded. He bought a new drive, and gave my the burned-out one. I popped it open (voiding warranty; I know), and found a little black splotch where some component used to be. Can I either just get a new one of these controller boards or clean up the silicon and mock-up a new component? Hate to waste $50 or something.

doubt it can be fixed. They are built to be disposable.
