DVD+R / Inspiron 8600

My notebook won't play a DVD+R copy of one of my movies that I made on my PC. The CD-ROM I have on mine is just a CD-RW drive, not a DVD burner. Is there a way around this, or will it simply just not play DVD+R's?

CD-roms will read CD-r's and CD-RW's but not DVD's. And as far as I know, there is no way to make a CD-RW read DVD's. You would need a CD-RW/DVD combo drive. Or a DVD-Rom drive, Or better yet, a DVD+RW drive.

"You would need a CD-RW/DVD combo drive"

lol, sorry.  That's what I have.  I meant to type "CD-RW / DVD".  Sorry for the misunderstanding.  My point was it's just a DVD-ROM, but it doesn't burn DVDs.
