Error Code 2000-0152 of PSA

Hi,

I would like to inform you that Error Code 2000-0152 indicates Optical Drive or System Board failure.

I would suggest you to try to use the optical drive outside operating system environment.

1. Insert Resource CD
2. Turn Off Computer
3. Turn on computer and tap F12
4. Select CD\DVD and
5. Tap enter to check
6. In case, it does not work, I would suggest you to replace the optical drive of the laptop.

Dear Manshu,

Thanks for the steps, I tried those but drive is not reading the CD hence boot up from hard drive. I tried reading articale 583411 which basically explaining the error codes for ePSA not PSA (which my system has) but assuming the codes are same this is what it says under action to be taken:

User Error

Re-run the test

Re-flash latest BIOS

Re-seat OD to system board.

Can you tell by 'Re-flash latest BIOS' they meant to be system bios or OD bios? system Bios I have but not OD bios and it is not available on dell site either.

Hi,

It seems like the optical drive has gone bad as it did not boot the disk on the one time boot menu. I would suggest you to flash system BIOS. Please click on the link below which will take you to the driver’s website:

Enter the Service Tag of the computer and choose the Operating System installed on the computer. Please update the latest version of BIOS available.

Also, would request you to restart the computer and the moment it starts, start tapping the F2 key to boot the computer to BIOS. Look for SATA ODD under Main Menu. Please make a note of the status.

In case, the issue is not fixed you can also reseat the optical drive of the computer using the manual on http://dell.to/hTccLw

If the above steps do not fix the issue, then optical drive needs replacement.

After all trial as mentioned above I replaced with another drive but still same errors are showing up, any further advise?
