Error Code:0F00:133D - IDE device failed: incompatible CD for testing

Hello Houston! I have a problem!!!

I´ve a Latitude D800, running with Windows2000. After installing a CD-Burning-Software (Nero 5.5.8.2) the disaster started. After rebooting the system always crashes with a bluescreen. The system starts, let´s say up to ¾ with the blue Windows, than there is a short beep, 2 or 3 more blue bares and “gone”! The error message:
STOP: 0x0000000A(…)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

When I run the Dell-Self-Test (F12 at boot) I get the Error code 0F00:133D
MSG: IDE device failed: incompatible CD for testing

I already tried to remove the CD and rebooted, but the result was the same. Is there any help outside???

Chris,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
If you reboot to safe mode and uninstall Nero, does the system work?

If you're testing a CDRW drive, you have to have media that can be read from and written to... I always use a blank, formatted CDRW. Try that, and see if you still get the incompatible media warning.

I am getting the same message

Error Code 0F00: 133D

Msg:  IDE device failed:  Incompatible CD for testing

I have tried starting in safe mode but it just sits there with a screen full of text.  I tried last know good and also did not start.

It begins to boot and goes through the black screen with the XP logo with the meter below, then goes to a black screen, rather than pulling up the blue XP screen that appears before logon it just shuts down and begins to reboot.

It is a Dell GX 60 Optiplex.  I took the CDRW out of the bootsequence but that also does nothing.

Waiting for Help,

SteveMcG
